"Card four sheds some light on his family life. He saw the whole blot as the figure of a gigantic man. This is a response commonly
given by men with domineering fathers. He seemed bothered by the card. We see here evidence of the Oedipus complex at work: at
an early stage in his life he probably experienced an incestuous longing for his mother. He felt guilty about the desire and feared
punishment for it from his father, the punishment being castration. Deep down he has always had a longing to slay his father and
marry his mother."
